Press release date: November 26, 2008

The Schenck Process IntraBulk is a high speed above ground bulk intake system designed to receive materials from trucks and then feeding those materials into process systems at rates up to 500 tons per hour.

As an intake device the IntraBulk operates as a wide belt apron feeder. Typically a belt width of 9 ft is used to unload materials from road tipping trucks or front end loaders in lump sizes up to 6 inches and bulk densities of 156 lb/ft³ or less. This makes the system ideal for handling a broad range of materials including coal, limestone, gypsum, clinker, iron ore, sewage sludge, grain, and clay. With no risk of material bridging, the IntraBulk can be used as a buffer store as well as providing regular feed.

Installing the IntraBulk above ground provides worker safety, lower cost, and a simpler means of reducing dust and odors. Without ground excavations you eliminate the risks associated with employees working below ground along with the need for expensive civil engineering. Dust and odors are also much easier to remove with above ground dust collection and ventilation systems.

Construction of the IntraBulk consists of rolled hollow sections and a steel plate designed in a modular configuration, which simplifies transportation and assembly. The IntraBulk can be delivered to your site completely assembled and fully tested making it ready for positioning on a local foundation. Systems can be up and running within hours of delivery.

Schenck Process is a worldwide manufacturer of belt scales, mass flow meters, weighfeeders, volumetric and gravimetric feeders, bulk bag discharging systems, fiberglass feeders, controls, and weighing systems for the steel, cement, aggregate, and gypsum industries. Schenck Process can be contacted at 973-882-4650 or visit the web site at www.schenckamericas.com.
