EDISON, N.J., March 2007 -- Schaffner EMC, a leading provider of EMI/RFI components and solutions for power quality, today named Frank Garafalo as its new vice president and chief financial officer.
Garafalo, the former controller of Micro Stampings Corporation, has experience working with and reporting to shareholders, leading the annual static corporate budget process, managing the implementation of new payroll and financial systems, preparing critical financial statements, developing strategies for cost savings and in supporting internal audit functions.
"Frank's extensive knowledge of the electronics industry and of the financial responsibilities of a subsidiary of a publicly held company will be extremely beneficial to us," said Gillis Mellen, president of Schaffner EMC. "We look forward to incorporating the ideas and perspectives of his past experiences to further improve and strengthen our business."
Garafalo earned his bachelor's degree in finance from The Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Phoenix. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Manager (CFM).
Garafalo replaces Tom Durkin, who passed away suddenly on January 8, 2007.
