Save the Date: Ninth ANSI-HSSP Plenary Scheduled for November 9-10

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Homeland Security Standards Panel (HSSP) has announced that its ninth annual plenary will be held on November 9-10, 2010, in Arlington, VA. This year's meeting will focus on standards for aviation, border and maritime security, crisis management, and global supply chain security.

The ANSI-HSSP Plenary provides the unique opportunity for the homeland security, emergency preparedness, and business continuity communities (public sector, private sector, and standards developing organizations) to come together to discuss current issues and challenges, strategic approaches, recent successes, and future outlooks. Feedback from past plenary meetings has cited not only the useful information sharing and dialogue during the formal program, but also the valuable networking and connections established for future collaboration.

This year's plenary will address the need for new or revised standards for aviation, border and maritime security, crisis management, and global supply chain security. Leaders, experts, federal agencies, standards developers, and other relevant stakeholders from both the U.S. and Europe will convene to share information related to these subjects to develop a gap analysis and identify what is working and what may not be working to the extent desired.

The event will be held at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA. Information on how to register, room block rates and information, and further details for the event are posted on the Ninth Annual Plenary website. A draft agenda will also be posted when it becomes available. Please note that registration closes on November 1, 2010.

Sponsorship opportunities for this year's plenary are available. The $2,000 sponsorship includes a 6-foot tabletop display space, a banner ad on ANSI-HSSP Plenary web site, premium signage, and a company logo on plenary meeting materials, as well as other advantages. As an exclusive offer, HSSP members and constituents who commit to a sponsorship between now and September 1, 2010, will receive a discount of 10%.

Questions regarding this event or sponsorship can be directed to Karen Hughes, ANSI director of homeland security standards (khughes@ansi.org).
