Directional Control Valves Business Works to be Leader in Meeting Market Needs

AMES, Iowa, U.S.A., May 24, 2011 - Sauer-Danfoss Inc. (NYSE:SHS) announces a newly created 'stand-alone' business, named Valmova(TM), effective May 1. The business name is derived from the company's tag line, "Valves with More Value." Valmova will manufacture and sell directional control valves, which were previously manufactured and marketed within the central Sauer-Danfoss organization.

"Valmova is well-positioned to meet the needs and expectations of customers," says Sven Ruder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sauer-Danfoss. "Through our growing applications expertise and conversations with customers, we discovered that there are tangible differences for this product line, especially in terms of customer needs, and now Valmova will bring an enhanced focus on additional features and functionality."

Valmova becomes the newest member of the Sauer-Danfoss Group, which includes Comatrol®, Turolla OpenCircuitGear(TM), and Schwarzmüller-Inverter(TM), in addition to the joint-venture company, Hydro-Gear®.

New Director Appointed to Oversee Valmova
Domenico Traverso, Vice President, Stand-Alone Businesses, has named Rinaldo Fernandes as Director of Valmova. Fernandes will manage all aspects of the Valmova business, including production facilities in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, and Pune, India.

According to Traverso, "Customers should be looking for exciting changes in our product line, including additional features, such as load-sense and higher performance, with virtually zero leakage and higher pressure limits. Together with optimized supply chain practices, we will offer the customer better value for the money."

"This new business allows us to enhance the service and offerings that our current customers receive as well as become a leading local player," adds Traverso. "Valmova will serve the customer where they are, with a major focus on targeted applications within agriculture and construction."
