March 20, 2007, EDGEWOOD, NY, USA - Complete cleaning in hygienic areas, and especially within pharmaceutical and food industries, can be limited if one cannot gain access to critical contamination-prone areas. The MoveLine platform, part of the IF flat-bed scale series from Sartorius, provides increased ease-of-use for cleaning through a patented design. This unique design feature is not found on other flat-bed scales, and meets current NIOSH occupational safety regulations.
Thorough cleaning is accomplished utilizing wheels located directly below the MoveLine platform and controlled through a specialized lifting system. As the wheels are lowered, the scale is raised from the floor so that the entire scale can then be effortlessly moved using a towing bar, providing easy and complete access to the floor underneath the platform.
With an ultra-low profile of only 25 mm, Sartorius MoveLine flat-bed scale platforms are optimally designed for hopper or vessel weighing, and allow simple positioning of containers on the platform. In addition, the stainless steel weighing platforms are compliant with FDA requirements on materials, surface finish, and cleanability according to HACCP and EHEDG guidelines.
Sartorius IF flat-bed scales, including the MoveLine platform, are available in AISI 304 or AISI 316 Ti stainless steel, with contoured edges and no welded seams, and an optional electropolished finish (Ra<0.4ìm) is available for increased corrosion resistance. Additionally, IF series scales are suitable for precision weighing from 150 kg to 3,000 kg at a resolution of 15,000 d for standard applications, and can be easily connected to the Sartorius Combics indicators or isi terminals via an optional terminal A/D converter.
