Sandvik Coromant Announces Technologic Open House Event


Fair Lawn, N.J. - Sandvik Coromant has announced that it will be holding a Technologic event focused on workforce development in US manufacturing on October 25, 2011. Featuring an assortment of sessions taking place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the event will be held at the Sandvik Coromant Productivity Center in Schaumburg, Ill.

The morning session of Technologic will focus on developing an innovative workforce with a presentation from John Pusatera, Training Specialist at Sandvik Coromant. The presentation will highlight the difference between perception and reality in US manufacturing today. Steve Mandes, Executive Director of the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) will discuss the NIMS Certification programs and how it can help build solid improvements in manufacturing. In addition, Rand Haas, President of MEDUSA, will speak about how to get involved in manufacturing career internships and the impact they have on business. Afternoon sessions will offer valuable insight into new tooling technologies for rotating and turning, as well as, demos showing improved techniques for productivity, quality and tool wear.

Additionally, Sandvik Coromant yellow coats will be available all day at the Smart Hub to answer any questions and help find the best solutions and application techniques for the most challenging machining processes.
