Sandvik Coromant Announces New Productivity Center Manager


Fair Lawn, New Jersey, May 20, 2008 - Sandvik Coromant recently named Karl Almquist to the position of Productivity Center Manager at the company's training facility and technical center in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.

As Productivity Center Manager, Mr. Almquist will be responsible for managing online, internal and customer based training seminars, customer application support and the Sandvik Coromant Aerospace Application Center.

"The Productivity Center serves as a workshop that allows Sandvik Coromant to show customers how to improve their efficiency and productivity in metalcutting through live demonstrations on CNC machine tools and seminars," said John Israelsson, President of Sandvik Coromant. "Karl's extensive background as an applications engineer and leadership experience as a business manager makes him ideally suited for this role."

Employed at Sandvik Coromant since 1998, Mr. Almquist served nine years as the Special Insert Engineering Manager before being appointed to the position of Business Manager for the Advanced Center for Engineered Solutions Region Americas. Prior to joining Sandvik Coromant, Mr. Almquist worked as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Curtiss Wright Flight Systems.
