Philadelphia, PA - August 11, 2010 - Sandmeyer Steel Company has announced the appointment of DK Corporation (DKC) as the Company's Representative Office and Sales Support Center in Korea. Located in Seoul, DKC will assist Sandmeyer Steel in penetrating the Korean and Japanese markets for stainless steel and nickel alloy plate products, focusing on profile shapes, smaller quantities, and sizes and grades not produced by DKC.
Founded in 1990, DKC is Korea's only stainless steel plate producing company, primarily producing commodity grades 304, 304L, 316L, 321, 347, and duplex grades, from 8 to 80mm in thickness for the petrochemical, food processing, nuclear, construction, LNG, LPG, and desalinization industries. They have earned multiple world-class certifications and sell to customers in 40 countries throughout the world.
Sandmeyer Steel Company was founded in 1952 by the late Paul C. Sandmeyer. Family owned and managed for three generations, the Company is recognized as a leading source worldwide for stainless steel and nickel alloy plate products, stocking over 8,000 MT of quarto plate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. "This partnership will further enhance our global presence, while enabling DKC to sell plate products they do not produce - namely, profile shapes, non-commodity stainless and nickel alloy grades, and heavy plate in excess of 80mm thick," said Ronald P. Sandmeyer, Jr., President and CEO.
