Sandmeyer Steel Company Announces Promotion of John M. Curley, III


Philadelphia, PA - June 28, 2006

Sandmeyer Steel Company has announced the promotion of John M. Curley, III, to the newly-created position of General Manager - Sales and Marketing as part of a reorganization of the Company's sales team.
Curley joined the Company in 1985 as an Inside Sales Representative and was quickly promoted to District Sales Manager for the New England territory. In 1993 he joined the Company's management team as Manager - Inside Sales.

In addition to retaining his responsibilities within the Inside Sales Department, Curley will manage the Company's advertising and marketing campaigns as well as the general administrative functions of the Sales Department. "Streamlining the various sales and marketing functions within our organization under John's leadership will enable us to more fully take advantage of strategic opportunities in today's marketplace," commented Ronald P. Sandmeyer, Jr., President and CEO. "John's extensive knowledge and experience will help us successfully market and sell stainless steel and nickel alloy plate products in the global specialty steel market."

A native of Boston, John currently resides in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Cathy. Before joining Sandmeyer Steel Company, he was employed by Industrial Service Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Curley has a long family heritage in the stainless steel plate industry. His grandfather, John M. Curley, Sr., founded the former Eastern Stainless Steel in Baltimore in 1943; his father, John M. Curley, Jr., served as Eastern's president for many years.
