Samsung IP Cameras and Encoders Fully Integrated with exacqVision VMS

Custom Driver for Samsung Cameras Enables Enhanced Video Surveillance Functionality

Las Vegas, NV – Samsung Techwin, a key player in the global video surveillance and security market, has announced a new development in their partnership with Exacq Technologies to provide enhanced control of Samsung IP cameras and encoders when integrated with the exacqVision Video Management System (VMS) software. The enhanced integration capabilities result from a new driver developed specifically for Samsung's line of IP camera/encoder products which is available with the latest version of the exacqVision VMS.

The system integration allows users to view and administer live and recorded Samsung camera images from any location on the network using the cross platform exacqVision client. The client provides virtual matrix switching, multi-layer mapping, digital PTZ control and more. Video from the Samsung cameras can also be integrated with text from access control, ATM and PoS systems for added system functionality. The exacqVision VMS allows for the configuration of the Samsung cameras across multiple servers to be completed all at once and from a single user interface.

According to Dave Underwood, President, Exacq Technologies, integration compatibility with Samsung cameras was previously enabled through the ONVIF standard. However, customer demand for more robust integration provided the impetus for Exacq to develop a native driver that could better take advantage of Samsung's feature rich camera technology.

"There is great industry demand for Samsung IP cameras in the surveillance market," notes Mr. Underwood. "It was advantageous for both Samsung and Exacq to collaborate on the development of the direct driver for their cameras."

Samsung Techwin IP video surveillance cameras are based upon cutting edge technologies that are unique in the security industry. The extensive lineup delivers extraordinary capabilities in both image quality and day-to-day performance and are available with feature sets that make them ideal for a wide range of applications at a very affordable price point.

"Samsung's advanced camera technology becomes even more effective when integrated with industry leading video management software," said Frank De Fina, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Samsung Techwin America. "The collaboration with Exacq Technology is another example of Samsung's ability to deliver high performance solutions on any platform with extreme value."
