STERIS Isomedix Services is pleased to announce the opening of our new Radiation Technology Center (RTC) in Libertyville, Illinois. Constructed as part of our ongoing investment in service capabilities and technical expertise, the RTC is the new home of our Radiation TechTeamŽ experts.
The new RTC replaces our Gamma Technology Center operations in nearby Morton Grove, Illinois, and is adjacent to our existing gamma production facility at 2500 Commerce Drive. The facility is dedicated to assisting our Customers with establishing sterilization dose values and delivering high precision irradiation for validation, dose audit and research purposes.
The RTC features a true direct path, off-carrier irradiator that maintains ambient temperature. It provides several benefits to our Customers, including:
- A direct path from the source and consistent dose rates to the product; achieved with the use of turntables
- A wide variety of product placement options and dose rate flexibility
- Mitigation of free-radical migration and help maintaining low bioburden levels before and during irradiation; achieved by processing, storing and shipping products at cold temperatures
- The ability to handle specialty projects, from small volume processing to specialty dose mapping, while maintaining delivered doses to within +/- 10%.
In addition, the RTC is dedicated to processing a variety of products such as active pharmaceutical ingredients, tissue/biological products, soil samples, electrical components and reactor components.
