New Advanced MPF+ Family Offers Fast Effective Read and Program Times and Heightened Protection of Digital Content in the Flash Memory

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 10 -- SST (Silicon Storage Technology, Inc.) (NASDAQ:SSTI), a leader in flash memory technology, today introduced its 38 series Advanced Multi-Purpose Flash Plus (Advanced MPF+) family of products based on the company's proprietary SuperFlash technology. The 38 series Advanced MPF+ products feature fast effective read and program performance, which gives systems using the devices fast boot and field update times. Additionally, this new series of flash memory products incorporates enhanced protection features that enable the prevention of unauthorized changing of data to ensure that content stored in the flash memory is secure. With its fast read and program performance and protection features, the 38 series Advanced MPF+ products are ideal for applications where the integrity of data and services are important, such as set-top boxes, personal media players and digital video recorders. Other target applications include printers, digital cameras and camcorders, digital TVs and broadband DSL and cable modems.

"Our new 38 series Advanced MPF+ family is a great example of SST's commitment to technology development: we have substantially increased the performance, which contributes to an enhanced end-user experience, and our protection features give service providers and content owners more confidence in knowing that the new digital services and content they release have additional safeguards from hackers and other unauthorized users."

The 38 series Advanced MPF+ products are available in 48-ball TFBGA and 48-lead TSOP packages. The first product in the 38 series is the 64 Mbit SST38VF6401. SST plans to expand the 38 series to include 32 Mbit products in 2008. The 38 series is the first family of products from SST implemented in a 0.12-micron SuperFlash technology.

Pricing and Availability

The SST38VF6401 is sampling now, with mass production scheduled for the first quarter of 2008. Pricing for the SST38VF6401 is $3.95 each in 10,000 unit quantities.
