SPE Announces 2007 Call for Parts for the 17th Annual Thermoforming Conference Parts Competition and Showcase



Submissions are due by September 10th

Brookfield, CT - With a theme of "Adapting to Form the Future," the Society of Plastics Engineers' (SPE) 2007 Thermoforming Conference takes place September 16-19, at the Duke Energy Convention Center and Millennium Hotel, and will highlight the 17th Annual Thermoforming Parts Competition and Showcase. Companies are asked to submit their parts for judging by September 10th.

Categories include:
o Thin Gauge, Roll-fed:
- Medical
- Consumer
o Heavy Gauge, Cut-sheet:
- Vacuum form
- Pressure form
o Additional Categories for Gold Winners
- Twin Sheet
- Multi-part Assembly
- People's Choice
- Optional Judges' Choice

Products will be judged for their creativity, originality, design complexity, surface finish, secondary operations, technical difficulty and innovation. Judging takes place on the show floor.

"This year we have broadened the categories into a larger grouping, and multiple winners will be announced from that grouping," explains Haydn Forward, chairman of SPE's Thermoforming Conference Parts Competition. "There were many great entries in years past that were a close 2nd to the winner of that category, but these new, broadened categories will allow those companies a greater opportunity for award recognition."

"With the variety of materials, colors and processing options in the thermoforming world, I'm looking forward to the high caliber of entries we will receive this year."
