SOUTH-TEC's Drive to Charlotte has Begun
DEARBORN, Michigan, July 23, 2007 - The latest technologies that drive manufacturing will be on display at the Society of Manufacturing Engineers' SOUTH-TEC 2007 Exposition & Conference (www.sme.org/southtec), to be held October 2-4 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. This is the Southeast's definitive manufacturing event, where attendees will have the opportunity to explore 300 exhibits, evaluate the latest technologies, processes and manufacturing strategies, and attend educational sessions right on the show floor.
An added feature of this year's show will be SME Motorsports and the showcasing of NASCAR-focused displays, featuring race-winning motorsports technology. In conjunction with the motorsports feature will be the Manufacturing for Performance Theater located on the show floor. Admission to the theater requires a daily "Pit Pass," which costs just $40 ($25 for SME members) and provides general show admission, a lunch voucher valid at any show floor concessions, and attendance to that day's educational sessions.
Headline speakers include Tim Cindric, president of Penske Racing, Bobby Hutchens, vice president of R&D, Richard Childress Racing, and Andy Papathanassiou, executive director of North Carolina Motorsports Association.
SME is "Where Manufacturing Comes Together" for motorsports, and the Society is taking a leading role in placing a focus on the importance of manufacturing and engineering jobs within the growing motorsports industry.
