SES Standards Conference to feature speakers from ANSI.

Speakers Include ISO Secretary-General Rob Steele and ANSI Board of Directors Chairman Art Cote

The Standards Engineering Society (SES) has announced that its 58th Annual Conference will take place August 17-18, 2009, in Toronto. Centered on the theme Reaching for the Top: New Heights for Standards, the event will include moderated discussions on a diverse range of issues relevant to the standards community.

Rob Steele, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization, (ISO) will provide the keynote address. Attendees will hear from expert panelists and moderators on a number of topics, including:

Green Standards Professional Certification Where in the World to Develop Standards Three Views from the Top: Standards Career Paths Standards Technology Rethinking the Standards Business Model

Speakers will also include Art Cote, chairman of the Board of Directors of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and Rosemary Maginniss, ANSI senior director of business development. The full conference program is available here.

The event may be of particular interest to managers of company standardization programs; people who design standardization programs or apply standards; government agencies applying management and standardization techniques; and organizations trying to improve their standards development process.

The workshop will be held at the Marriott Bloor Yorkville Hotel in Toronto. Two professional development courses will be presented in conjunction with the conference, on Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20.

SES is a non-profit technical association founded in 1947 to further the knowledge and use of standards and standardization. The organization provides a neutral forum where standards users and developers can come together to address mutual issues, opportunities, and interests.
