SERAPID, Inc.

Sterling Heights, MI, 48314
USA

Press release date: February 5, 2012

SERAPID, producers of stage scenery movement and theatre systems for hundreds of theater and concert halls across the globe including the stage equipment for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the Copenhagen Opera House, the Saint-Nazaire halls of the Middle East and fifty cruise ships; has recently taken on a fresh challenge with the new Frank Gehry designed Louis Vuitton Foundation complex in Paris, France.

The latest project, which has been two years in development, is an advanced stage system for the beautiful glass-covered complex that will house the new cultural foundation in western Paris, the Louis Vuitton Foundation for Creation. This building will be an impressive venue for cultural events, art exhibitions and theatrical performances. The project, estimated at 450 million euros, will include a system whose configuration is able to be transformed drastically from a flat reception area to tiered seating for stage performance within as little as a half hour,.

Among the technical advances that have been used in the renovation was the SERAPID LinkLift system. LinkLift columns feature square links that work like building blocks to form a tower stack. The shape and locking technique make it capable of extra-high rigidity and strength. Serapid produces six versions of the LinkLift which carries up to 20 tons and lifts up to eight meters high.
