SAMPE and SME to Join Forces in Salt Lake City with Two Composites Conferences and Exhibitions

DEARBORN, Mich., - The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineers (SAMPE) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) will bring two traditional fall conferences and exhibitions to Salt Lake City, Utah.

For the first time, SAMPE's Fall Technical Conference and Exhibition will be held at the same time as SME's Tooling for Composites Conference and Exhibition. The joint trade show will be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center on October 12-13, 2010.

"As both are highly regarded technical societies, I am pleased to announce this co-location in a city that my company is pleased to call home," said Steven Rodgers, SAMPE President and Research Director at ITT, Salt Lake City. "Our exhibitors will appreciate the opportunity to reach two very different yet related communities."

Last fall the SAMPE show was the largest in the organization's history with over 123 exhibitors and 1,300 attendees. The SME event was last held as a stand alone in 2008 with 50 exhibitors.

Combining these two events will provide each event's traditional attendee with access to exhibitors and conference programs they may not otherwise have attended. In doing so, the co-location is paving the way for the possibility of current technologies being used in new ways.

The SME Tooling for Composites Conference will be held on Tuesday-Wednesday, October 12 - 13, 2010. The SAMPE Fall Technical Conference will be held on Monday-Thursday, October 11 - 14, 2010. All events will be held at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
