SAGEM Open Line provides a secure solution for fax and document management as well as archiving. Compatible with multifunction peripherals (MFPs), it can boost productivity by as much as 90%.

Montreal, Canada, January 14, 2008 - Sagem-Interstar Inc. (SAFRAN Group) announced today that SAGEM Open Line - the field-proven, "plug & play" network fax server appliance - is now available in North America. SAGEM Open Line offers enterprises a comprehensive solution for all their faxing and archiving needs.

The all-in-one, turnkey SAGEM Open Line appliance (which can be placed on a desk or mounted on a rack) plugs quickly into any work environment so users can send, receive, scan, index, and automatically archive incoming and outgoing documents. Documents can be retrieved using full-text or multi-criteria search capabilities. The solution is scalable from 2 to 24 fax channels, accommodating light to heavier fax traffic.

SAGEM Open Line distinguishes itself with productivity-improvement features, such as:

o Desktop faxing (inbound and outbound): SAGEM Open Line enables users to send and receive faxes from email clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes, as well as other Microsoft Office or enterprise business applications.

o Automated faxing: Open Line allows faxing through integration with third-party business applications without any software development or programming required.

o Outbound fax approvals: All business-critical outbound faxes, such as purchase orders or quotes, can be automatically routed to the appropriate manager to approve or reject.

o Efficient document search and archiving: Open Line indexes and archives all faxed, scanned and stored documents. This allows for easy retrieval through Open Line's full-text or multi-criteria search capabilities. SAGEM Open Line also offers security features that enable documents to be forwarded to either public or private folders.

o Integration with any MFP: Fully integrates with industry-leading MFPs and copiers through native integration (OKI and Muratec), proprietary connectors (Canon and Sharp) and standard T.37 protocols (Xerox, HP, Ricoh, and Toshiba).

o High-end hardware components: Server-class solution with hot swappable hard drives for 24/7 reliability and support service within 24 hours.

SAGEM Open Line holds a very solid track record in Europe with thousands of systems deployed in major enterprises and organizations in diverse sectors ranging from humanitarian to banking and industry. These customers manage a daily volume of several thousand faxes, which are easily transmitted, scanned, tracked, archived and retrieved because of Open Line. The solution enables significant customer service improvements and rapid ROI.

"SAGEM Open Line has experienced unrivalled success in the European SMB and large enterprise fax server market due to proven reliability and unsurpassed functionalities," said Jean Champagne, General Manager of Sagem-Interstar. "With innovative features such as full-text search, OCR fax processing and routing, as well as automatic archiving, Open Line is well poised for similar sales success and popularity in North America.
