SAE International Honors Aerospace Chairs With Leadership Award



WARRENDALE, Pa., Oct. 2, 2007 - John Anderson and Jacques Leroux are recipients of SAE International's Aerospace Chair Award. They were presented the award during the SAE AeroTech Congress and Exhibition in Los Angeles and the SAE Aircraft and Engine Icing International Conference in Seville, Spain, respectively.

This award, established in 1997, recognizes outstanding leadership demonstrated by chairs of committees under the SAE Aerospace Council and Air & Space Group.

This award is funded through the SAE Foundation. In addition to supporting the awards, recognition and scholarship programs of SAE International, the SAE Foundation develops and funds programs and incentives that foster student interest in engineering, scientific and technical education.

John Anderson
Anderson is Vice President of Business Development at Triumph Aerospace Systems in Newport News, Va. He has 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry working on research and development programs. Previously, he worked at Pratt & Whitney and served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. Anderson is a member of SAE International and an aerospace committee chair. He resides in Poquoson, Va.

Jacques Leroux
Leroux is an Account Executive with Dow Chemical Canada, Inc. He is responsible for sales and technical service for aircraft deicing and anti-icing fluids. He also serves as a technical liaison for Canada with airlines in Europe and Asia.

A member of SAE International, Leroux is Chair of the SAE G-12 Steering Committee on Aircraft Ground Deicing and Co-chair of the SAE Aircraft Fluids Subcommittee. He has sponsored one SAE Aerospace Material Specification and two Recommended Practices dealing with deicing and anti-icing fluids.

Leroux holds a doctorate in chemistry from McGill University. He resides in Montreal.
