WARRENDALE, Pa., April 13 -- The Timken Company, in conjunction with SAE International, will announce a new award at the SAE Awards Ceremony, April 17, 5:30-8 p.m., during the SAE 2007 World Congress in Detroit.
The SAE/Timken Howard Simpson Automotive Transmission and Driveline Innovation Award will honor an engineer for significantly contributing to the advancement of transmission and driveline technology.
The award honors Howard Simpson, an engineer whose planetary gear patents revolutionized automotive transmissions. The Timken Company funds this award.
Deadline for nominations is Oct. 1, 2007. The award will be presented at the SAE 2008 World Congress.
