Vernon Hills, IL-(August 16, 2006) Beginning July 1, 2006, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) reduced the permissible volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions of industrial maintenance coatings from 250 grams/liter (g/l) to 100 g/l. The SCAQMD covers Orange County and portions of Riverside, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. Those violating Rule 1113 emission regulations could face penalties of up to $25,000 per day, per incident in the SCAQMD.
