Onboard Heavy-Duty Transit Buses and Construction Vehicles
Rotron® brushless DC blowers benefit from electronically commutated motor technology without brushes to offer extended service life up to 60,000 hours. These blowers outlast conventional brush-motor products by operating virtually maintenance free and eliminating the motor failures typically associated with brush wear over time.
Applications for this series of blowers include A/C evaporators, underseat heaters, defrosters, and driver boosters onboard heavy-duty transit buses, construction vehicles, and off-highway equipment.
Depending on model, the blowers can accept voltage inputs of 12 VDC or 24 VDC and can achieve flows up to 872 CFM and output pressures up to 3.25 in. H2O. All versions feature lightweight molded plastic construction and are designed to resist harsh environmental conditions, such as hot-water spray, salt, fog, shock, and vibration. Medium- and heavy-duty brushless motor construction conforms to the strict demands required for transit bus and construction equipment.
Among available options, blowers can be engineered to deliver multiple speeds (up to four settings) or variable speeds without the use of dropping resistors. Custom solutions can additionally be developed to suit particular application needs.
