In an out of court settlement with Rohrback Cosasco Systems (COSASCOŽ), Rose Corrosion Services Limited ("Rose") and Techtools (Morden) Limited ("Techtools"), have admitted misrepresenting to oil and gas customers that equipment they supplied was manufactured by COSASCOŽ. They have also accepted that the misrepresentations were calculated to lead and have in fact led to deception on the part of the public that products supplied by Rose were products manufactured or supplied by COSASCOŽ. Under the terms of the settlement, which was reached on the eve of adjudication in court, Rose and Techtools have paid COSASCOŽ an unspecified sum of money as monetary compensation, and will in future desist from passing off their products as original COSASCOŽ products. The dispute arose after Rose, through Techtools, supplied sham corrosion monitoring products purported to be of genuine COSASCOŽ manufacture to a Middle Eastern oil and gas operator.
COSASCOŽ issued the following additional statement:
"We've known for some time that unscrupulous companies have on occasion passed off fake goods as COSASCOŽ products, but we've been unable to catch them red-handed. This is an important victory not only for us and our reputation, but also for our customers who rely on the unmatched quality of COSASCOŽ to gain safe access to their high pressure oil and gas systems."
