Rohm and Haas Board of Directors Elects New Vice President
Philadelphia, PA, September 23, 2005 - Rohm and Haas (NYSE: ROH) announces today the election of Mark A. Douglas, 43, to vice president of the Philadelphia-based company by its Board of Directors.
Mr. Douglas was recently promoted to Procurement Director. In this role, he is responsible for providing overall leadership for the procurement organization and will manage the purchase and acquisition of all materials and services required by the company.
He joined Rohm and Haas in 1988 in the Croydon, UK office, following 10 years' experience in the private sector. In ensuing years, he held increasingly responsible positions in marketing and sales representing: Textiles/Nonwovens, Paper, and Specialty Polymers.
Mr. Douglas joined the European operations team for Polymers, Resins and Monomers in 1996 where he was responsible for Class A attainment. Two years later, he relocated to Singapore as regional business manager for Specialty Polymers and Adhesives, and shortly thereafter was named Global Business Manager for Pressure Sensitive Adhesives.
Mr. Douglas and his family moved to Philadelphia in 2001, when he assumed his most recent responsibilities, as General Manager, North American Region, Adhesives & Sealants. Mr. Douglas is also a member of the company's Leadership Council.
