Rockwell Automation Provides Integrated Architecture(TM) Tools Web Site to Help Simplify Control System Design, Configuration and Installation

Free videos, quick-start product guides and a library of code streamline users' experience with Integrated Architecture

MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio, Feb. 15, 2007 - The new Web site provided by Rockwell Automation presents a valuable collection of resources and information about the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture(TM). The site contains tools that help customers reduce the complexity of selecting, designing and configuring control systems.

The Integrated Architcture Tools Web site, www.rockwellautomation.com/go/iatools, includes, for example, the CompactLogix System Quick Start, an easy-to-understand guide designed to help reduce the time and cost associated with engineering, configuration and installation of a midsize control system. It features a step-by-step outline of the installation, configuration and programming of the system.

Primary features of the Integrated Architecture Tools Web site include:

Sample Code Library - The Sample Code Library features code for common control system applications. Customers can use this code as a foundation to start theprogramming of their system. The code can then be modified to meet the customer's specific application requirements, reducing engineering time.

Allen-Bradley CompactLogix System Quick Start - The CompactLogix System Quick Start helps customers reduce their configuration and development time four-fold. Featuring a walkthrough of the system setup process, the guide details design examples of how to get devices installed and communicating with each other in the simplest way possible.

CompactLogix Performance and Capability Resources - Featuring drawings that show popular CompactLogix configurations for: EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, motion and others, the Performance and Capability Resources help customers determine which control system configuration fits their application needs. Customers with little or no experience with midsize controllers are able to clearly see and understand the capacity of these controllers, as well as how to maximize their performance.

Integrated Architecture Videos - These videos give users the opportunity to witness first-hand the underlying value of the Integrated Architecture framework. Comparisons between the Integrated Architecture system solution and conventional methods are given.

DeviceNet Tag Generator Tool - The DeviceNet Tag Generator Tool helps further simplify DeviceNet configuration by automatically generating descriptive Logix-based tags. By eliminating non-descriptive addresses, word and bit counting, the tags help simplify DeviceNet system setup and use.

Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000 Start Page Videos - These media files are segmented into two categories, "How Do I" and "What's New." Introducing RSLogix 5000 to first-time users, these videos outline how to complete common tasks. More experienced customers are able to learn how to use the software to accomplish more advanced tasks, such as using the add-on instructions feature.

The Integrated Architecture Tools Web site and its contents are translated in many languages, including European and Asian.

Using control, networking, visualization and information technologies, the Integrated Architecture addresses a full range of control and information needs for discrete, motion, drive, safety, process and batch control applications.
