Roadmaps, Environmental Technology, and a Business Outlook for the Electronics Industry Headline IPC Conference in Singapore

BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, October 17, 2008 - Electronics manufacturing company managers and executives are invited to attend the IPC Executive Market & Technology Forum Conference taking place in Singapore, November 4-5, 2008. The conference is being held in cooperation with the HKPCA (Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association).

Senior-level decision makers in the electronics industry are concerned with many issues facing their company, but currently, business forecasts, "green" product requirements, environmental technology roadmaps and growth opportunities within the industrial electronics market are crucial topics that need to be further explored.

Leading off the two-day event on November 4, Walt Custer, president of Custer Consultant Group and renowned market and industry analyst, will provide the keynote presentation with his popular, "Business Outlook for the Electronics Industry." Also highlighting the day, Brian Swiggett, managing partner, Prismark Partners, will present the latest research on new opportunities in the industrial electronics market. Jack Calderon, managing director of Lincoln International, will discuss trends in cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the electronics industry.

On November 5, Bing C. Xu, enterprise materials management program manager at Ford Motor Company, will present Ford's environmental technology roadmap. This will be followed by a panel discussion by industry experts on the implications of regulatory and OEM environmental requirements for the electronics supply chain.

"Companies have found that complying with RoHS legislation has been a complex, and at times, painful process," says Fern Abrams, IPC director of environmental policy and government relations, and conference presenter. "And now, REACH and OEM halogen-free requirements stand poised to further complicate every facet of the electronics supply chain's operations. This is where a solid understanding of the current and upcoming laws and OEM requirements can help companies plan for compliance and avoid costly missteps."

Also on November 5, Dr. Chris Robertson, head of reliability and failure analysis at ETA Technology, will discuss the highlights of IPC's new commissioned study, "Environmental Megatrends that will Shape the Future of the Electronics Industry."

"This conference will help electronics industry leaders get the answers they need to meet the current and future demands of the supply chain," says Sharon Starr, IPC director of market research. She adds, "This one-of-a-kind conference will provide a wealth of information about trends in markets and technology, as well as access to an ever-growing network of top industry leaders and decision makers."

As an added incentive, IPC is offering a two-for-one registration opportunity. If one person from a company registers, the second person at the same company can register for free. For additional information on the conference, including the two-for-one registration offer, visit ipc.org/2008Singapore.
