To recognize our responsibility for the environment and to meet the requirements of our customers and the marketplace, Basler is modifying nearly all of the cameras we produce to be RoHS compliant. During our RoHS compliance assessment, about 4000 different components were identified and checked. For any parts that needed to be changed, the required functionality was tested and confirmed to ensure the same performance, reliability, and quality our customers expect. The final switchover to full RoHS production depends on our supply chain. Although our component suppliers have been certified for quite a long time, some of them cannot deliver RoHS compliant parts immediately. This will force us to extend delivery times for some RoHS compliant cameras. As stated in a previous letter, vendors of devices such as industrial cameras that are integrated into other machines are not required to follow the RoHS directive.
