Press release date: March 10, 2011

Fourth AIP National Technical Forum to Run March 23-24 Alongside AusPack Plus 2011

EXPORT, PA Rick Fox, President and CEO of FOX IV Technologies, Inc., is scheduled to join a panel of packaging industry experts for two days of presentations and discussions as the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) presents its 4th biennial AIP National Technical Forum.

"The Packaging Supply Chain" is the theme of this year's forum. "It's a very comprehensive line up: beginning with innovation and design, and going right through to shelf-ready and consumer packaging," said Phil Biggs, national sales and marketing manager for forum sponsor Matthews Intelligent Identification.

"Importantly, the in-depth discussions over the two days from March 23-24, will also look at production lines and equipment. This is an area where manufacturers can lose or gain profit, yet it's an area that's easy to overlook because shop floor staff and management can't clearly see what is actually happening on production lines."

Fox and Biggs are among 21 international experts set to speak at the AIP forum. A single day session is $220 (incl. GST), or $330 (incl.) for both days. To book online or download a program, go to http://www.aipack.com.au/index.cfm?MenuID=28&EventID=245. Sessions will be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, where AusPack Plus 2011 runs March 22-25.

Fox is Vice Chairman of the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) Board of Directors. He started FOX IV more than 25 years ago as a business unit within Matthews International Corporation. The business began by producing bar code film masters for the printing industry and soon expanded into automated labeling equipment and label converting. He has written and presented papers at many technical conferences and has been an active member of the Automatic Identification Manufacturers since 1984, serving as the chairperson on numerous committees and as a member of the Board of Directors. He has extensive experience in integrating Auto ID technology systems into complex manufacturing and warehouse/distribution environments. Fox has previously served on PMMI's Board of Directors, as PMMI's PACK EXPO Show Committee Chairman, as a member of the Uniform Code Council's Global Symbology Committee and as a member of the Terms of Reference Subcommittee of the RFID Expert Group (REG).
