Press release date: March 8, 2010

(Nashville, TN - www.boschrexroth-us.com) Bosch Rexroth Vice President of Technology Scott Hibbard will discuss energy efficiency in the manufacturing industry during the 2010 Association for Manufacturing Technology / National Center for Manufacturing Science (AMT/NCMS) Manufacturing Technology Forum in Nashville, TN, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Hibbard's presentation, Initiatives for Energy Efficiency in Industry will take place Tuesday, March 30 at 3:45 p.m. He will discuss effective principles for energy efficient solutions for production equipment in the manufacturing sector.

"With manufacturing consuming arguably one third of all energy produced, there is more attention being paid to how automation technology can better manage energy consumption in a manufacturing environment," said Hibbard. "When most people hear about energy, they think of big ticket items - like solar panels or wind farms. Although they may not get all the attention, it's the workhorse devices like servo drives, hydraulic pumps and bearing assemblies that will contribute the most to sustainable manufacturing in the future," he said.

This year, the AMT/NCMS Manufacturing Technology Forum is focusing on energy and innovation, a large focus also for Bosch Rexroth. Hibbard will discuss the "Rexroth 4EE" approach to energy efficiency throughout the total machine lifecycle. His presentation will cover Rexroth's four principle areas of energy efficient solutions, including efficient components, energy recovery, energy on demand, and energy conscious system design. Hibbard's presentation will be part of a larger discussion during the forum's "Energy Efficiency Concepts and Capabilities"segment.
