Hydraulic Institute Seeks Reviewers for Updated Version of: ANSI/HI 9.6.1 - Rotodynamic Pumps - Guideline for NPSH

Parsippany, NJ - The Hydraulic Institute (HI), under the approval of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is seeking qualified individuals in North America to participate in the review process for the draft of updated version of ANSI/HI 9.6.1,- Rotodynamic Pumps - Guideline for NPSH.

A net positive suction head (NPSH) margin may be required for several reasons related to pump performance and service life, to cover the uncertainties of what the NPSH available (NPSHA) will be over the range of operation, and to provide for adequate pump reliability and performance. The purpose of this guideline is to establish margins over NPSH3 that will lead to acceptable pump performance and service life.

Individuals and organizations in North America directly and materially affected by this document are asked to contact HI. These parties include pump users and specifiers, producers, standards developers, government agencies, and general interest groups. HI is currently assembling a canvass list of all parties interested in reviewing the draft. This list will be submitted to ANSI in order to meet its open canvass requirements. To participate in the ANSI/HI canvass, contact Karen Anderson, Administrator, Technical Affairs, at kanderson@Pumps.org or call (973) 267-9700 x123.
