2013 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy
WASHINGTON -- The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) is proud to announce that Rep. Scott Peters (D), of the 52nd Congressional District of California, will deliver opening remarks at the 2013 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy. BIO’s unique conference, focusing on the growth of the industrial biotechnology sector in Asia and the Americas, will be co-organized by Biocom and held in San Diego, December 8-11, 2013 at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter.

Peters. “Through my work in Congress as a member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, as an advocate for consistent and adequate funding for basic scientific research, and as a founding member of the bipartisan Algae Caucus, I am consistently pushing for an environment that is more conducive to biotechnology growth here in the United States.”

Representative Peters is currently a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Science, Space, & Technology. Additionally, he is a member of the House Sustainable Environment and Energy Coalition, and chair of its Climate Task Force. Congressman Peters has made fostering innovation and the biosciences economy within San Diego and throughout the United States a top priority during his time served in Congress.
