Reminder: Register Now for ANSI Courses on Standards Programs Administration!

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to remind all interested stakeholders to register for upcoming sessions of the Institute's most popular courses for the administration of domestic and international standards programs. Three courses will be held in November 2009. Each session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in ANSI's office in New York City.

For those who require in-depth training, a course on Monday, November 9, will provide a practical "how to" on the development of American National Standards (ANS). Students of course #287, The American Way: the American National Standard (ANS) Development Process, will gain greater understanding and guidance on the practical application of the ANS development process and procedures, and the value of ANSI accreditation. This course will be taught by staff from ANSI's procedures and standards administration program.

On Tuesday, November 10, a course will detail the activities of U.S. Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) and the responsibilities of TAG members, administrators, and leaders. Students enrolled in course #208, The Operating Procedures of U.S. TAGs to ISO: Strengthening the U.S. Voice in International Standardization, will explore the processes and operating procedures of ANSI-accredited U.S. TAGs to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Crucial information about accreditation, membership, voting requirements, and rules for developing positions will be presented, as well as tips on how to be an effective international delegate at ISO committee meetings. This course will be taught by staff from ANSI's ISO Team (ISOT).

Course #205, ISO Secretariat Operations: Taking the Secret out of the Secretariat, will be held on Wednesday, November 11. This session provides insight and advice on every aspect of successful ISO committee management. Participants will increase their understanding of the international standards development process and alternative deliverables, and learn effective management techniques. This course will be taught by staff from ANSI's International Secretariats group.

Each course is $395 for ANSI members and $495 for non-members. Registration is required.
