Regresa brand oxobiodegradable polyethylene films are now commercially available from Brentwood Plastics, inc. With the addition of an FDA approved catalyst, polyethylene film has a controlled degradation to harmless biomass of a few years compared to 300 or so years for the half-life of conventional polyethylene. Performance during the service life of the package is not compromised.
Complies with ASTM D 6459 and 3 of 4 criteria for ASTM D 6400. Common applications are shrink bundling film, general purpose bags, USPS approved mailwrap, bread bags and shipping sacks.
