In addition to new member orientation, event will include ANSI Government Member Forum; Open Forum: Building Bridges across the Standards Ecosystem; ANSI Legal Issues Forum: Incorporation by Reference, Reasonable Availability, and Copyright; ANSI Company Member Forum; ANSI Organizational Member Forum; and ANSI Consumer Interest Forum.

New Member Orientation and Legal Issues Forum among the Highlighted Events
Only five weeks remain for members of the international standards and conformity assessment community to register for World Standards Week (WSW) 2012, to be held October 9-12 in Washington, DC. WSW is an annual event hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) - the coordinator of the U.S. voluntary standardization system - where standards and conformity professionals come together in the spirit of collaboration and cooperation. The deadline for registration for WSW is September 28, 2012. Individuals interested in making use of a room block organized by ANSI at the Hotel Monaco for Monday, October 8, through Thursday, October 11, at a discounted rate of $309/night, plus tax, must make their reservations by Wednesday, September 5.
For the first time, ANSI will hold a new member orientation as part of WSW; the orientation will be held October 10. All WSW events will be held at the Newseum in Washington, DC, unless otherwise noted. Detailed venue and accommodation information is available here. The schedule of events for WSW is as follows:
