Press release date: August 24, 2011

Effective control and communication of factory design changes reduce project costs and timescales. At PPMA 2011, CAD Schroer and WSP CEL will showcase integrated software and engineering expertise

Cambridge, UK and Pittsford, NY - PPMA 2011, the UK's premier event for the processing and packaging industry, promises to deliver more than the latest machinery. The experts at stand C15 (NEC Hall 5) will be helping manufacturers tackle diverse project challenges.

Engineering managers tackling factory projects in changing markets must deliver new production lines quickly and cost-effectively. From 27-29 September, engineering software provider CAD Schroer and its customer WSP CEL team up for the third year running to present software and services designed to meet that goal: http://www.cad-schroer.com/News/Events/1/1193/

From Factory Layout Software to Full Project Management

WSP CEL, the global engineering and environmental consultancy, regularly undertakes projects with CAD Schroer's MPDS4 software: www.cad-schroer.com/Software/MPDS4/Factory_Design/

MPDS4's modular, database-, rules- and standards-driven 2D/3D design environment offers consistency and interference checking tools for high quality results, avoiding expensive mistakes during construction. Automated routing tools for everything from conveyor and steel design to P&ID-driven piping cut project times. Exported "pocket-sized" factory designs can be e- mailed to all stakeholders for independent walk-through reviews, with changes easily made in a version-controlled manner and communicated in 3D.

"We can support anyone involved in designing, building, adapting, expanding, moving or consolidating process lines or factories," says CAD Schroer's Technical Sales Manager Bill Wilkins. "Together with WSP CEL, we offer everything from the design software to full capital project management."

WSP CEL's Head of Business Development, Stephen Taylor, adds, "Our consultancy services range from concept design through construction to commissioning, bringing to bear extensive project experience in the biotech, pharma, food, FMCG, energy, industrial and chemical sectors. We can augment client teams, or take on complete projects. CAD Schroer's software provides us with great flexibility on the design side, making communication of changes easy and immediate, with effective 3D engineering review and visualisation tools. Its multi-user, multi-disciplinary approach means that we can simultaneously work on designs with client teams."

The tools used to carry out, control and communicate factory design changes have a huge impact on project costs and timescales. By offering flexible engineering software and expert consultancy services tailored to individual requirements, CAD Schroer and WSP CEL help to ensure project success.
