Redline Unveils New 4.9GHz Broadband Wireless Public Safety Applications

New 4.9 GHz RedCONNEX(TM) and RedACCESS(TM) products deliver reliable, high-performance solution for public safety applications

TORONTO, Feb. 20 - Redline Communications Group Inc. (TSX and AIM: RDL), a leading provider of standards-based fixed and mobile WiMAX access and broadband wireless infrastructure products, today unveiled its new RedCONNEX(TM) and RedACCESS(TM) products for the 4.9GHz band. Redline's 4.9GHz AN-80i is designed for use in public safety and military communications networks in the United States as well as in international markets where the spectrum is available for deployment of broadband wireless systems.

The 4.9GHz AN-80i is available under Redline's RedCONNEX(TM) point-to-point and RedACCESS(TM) point-to-multipoint families, enabling organizations greater flexibility and cost-effective options for establishing broadband wireless networks. The 4.9GHz products meet the strict government criteria for information assurance, supporting a number of features that ensures secure transmission, management and authentication. The 4.9GHz AN-80i provides the industry-leading long-range connections that operators have come to expect from Redline's BWI products and are software upgradeable to deliver between 9 and 90 Mbps of net throughput, allowing operators the commercial flexibility to pay as they grow.

"The launch of the 4.9GHz AN-80i products follows the introduction of Redline's new Broadband Wireless Infrastructure business unit, which is focused on the global marketing and accelerated development of our RedCONNEX and RedACCESS product families," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Redline Communications Group Inc. "Redline's backhaul and access products have been the solution of choice for operators in a variety of industry sectors. With our new 4.9 GHz products, Redline is positioned to be the leading choice for broadband wireless products for public safety applications."

"While much attention is given to the 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands, the 4.9 GHz opportunity is an important one," said Peter Jarich, Research Director with Current Analysis. "Ultimately, however, expanding 4.9 GHz beyond niche public safety and broadband access applications will require a broad ecosystem of reliable, credible products. Against this backdrop, Redline's new RedCONNEX and RedACCESS products are a welcome addition to the market."
