USA

Press release date: May 3, 2011

SAN MATEO, Calif. - RedSeal Systems, Inc., the market's leading provider of security posture management solutions, today announced that it has added support for Fortinet Inc.'s flagship FortiGate® consolidated security appliance family to its RedSeal Network Advisor and Vulnerability Advisor software.

The added integration with the Fortinet products allows customers using FortiGate platforms to analyze their devices using RedSeal and gain a holistic understanding of access control, risk and compliance across the entire enterprise.

"RedSeal offers powerful security intelligence for enterprise network infrastructure," said Patrick Bedwell, vice president of product marketing at Fortinet. "The integration between FortiGate and RedSeal helps our joint customers to quickly identify and remediate potential weaknesses and reduce risks through a complementary platform that provides a more comprehensive understanding of their network behavior."

RedSeal's software analyzes the complex interaction of firewalls, routers, load balancers and hosts across the entire enterprise network, assessing the security capabilities of the infrastructure as a whole rather than simply the behavior of individual devices.

RedSeal Network Advisor ensures that an organization's desired security policies are actually enforced by their network infrastructure, isolating specific rules and devices that create security holes and verifying continuously that network changes comply with approved policies.

RedSeal Vulnerability Advisor analyzes the effect that network security has on host vulnerabilities, identifying those problems that are actually exposed to threats and could enable hackers to break through perimeter defenses to access sensitive assets using leapfrog attacks.

This capability allows operations teams to focus their efforts on issues that create the greatest risk to their organization based on confirmed parameters of access, vulnerability and organizational impact - instead of utilizing their resources patching servers already shielded by multiple layers of network security.

"As threats and defenses grow in complexity, security executives need to ensure that network security infrastructure as a whole is accomplishing its objectives," said Steve Dauber, vice president of marketing, RedSeal Systems, Inc. "RedSeal support for Fortinet's FortiGate product line allows even more organizations to benefit from the combination of leading network defenses and the intelligence of security posture management."

About RedSeal Systems, Inc. (www.redseal.net)

RedSeal Systems develops security posture management software that enables organizations to assess and strengthen their cyber-defenses. Unlike systems that detect attacks once they occur, RedSeal identifies holes in the security infrastructure that could be exploited--before they are discovered by hackers. RedSeal software analyzes and simplifies the complex interaction of firewalls, routers, load balancers and hosts, delivering in-depth understanding of overall security posture, continuous compliance with regulations such as PCI, FISMA, and SOX, and actionable steps for risk remediation.
