RB510 Bluetooth audio module selected as 2012 ECN Reader's Choice Tech Award winner

San Jose, CA - Radicom Research, a modem industry leader, announced today that ECN Magazine awarded its RB510 Audio Bluetooth Module the 2012 ECN Readers' Choice Tech Award. With complete DSP and other key features, the RB510's combination of performance and power efficiency made it the standout selection in the Audio Bluetooth Module category.

"The Reader's Choice awards from ECN Magazine act as a measuring stick for the industry, and we're very honored that the RB510 has won one," says Alex Tsau, VP of Operations at Radicom Research. "Our goal is to continually push the envelope for function, quality, and efficiency, and the RB510 is a perfect example of this."

The RB510 series of Embedded Bluetooth Module for OEMs comes with complete DSP, stereo CODEC, flash and antenna for superior audio quality, power consumption, and radio performance. The use of an embedded DSP core - an open-platform digital signal coprocessor - provides added value to any application, allowing for product-enhancing features such as advanced audio decoding (MP3, AAC, AAC+), speech recognition, text-to-speech, echo cancellation, and noise reduction.

"The RB510 is designed for flexibility across a wide range of situations: media players, mobile phones, desktop computers, tablets, and more, all up to a distance of 10 meters," says Tsau. "Thanks to advanced features such as text-to-speech and noise reduction, it's perfect for both commercial and industrial use."

The RB510 is Bluetooth V.2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) compliant for increased throughput, reduced battery consumption, and improved security. It provides faster pairing and allows superior performance in the presence of interference from 802.11 (WiFi) wireless devices and other 2.4GHz radios. In addition, the RB510's 5Mbits of on-board flash memory allows for easy loading of OEM-specific parameters and Bluetooth data link across embedded applications.

Available Platforms:

· RB510: Surface mount PCB module with on-board antennas built in
· RB510HM: DIP, through-hole module with HM (1"x1") footprint and U.FL connector built in for antenna cable attachment (enables flexible antenna location)
