Registration for RIA's 2013 Phoenix Awards for Innovation in Restoration and Reconstruction will run until December 17, 2012, while entries will be accepted until January 4, 2013. Competition is open to RIA member and non-member firms and up to 2 projects can be submitted in each category. To be eligible, residential or commercial building project must be at least 90% complete by December 2012. Winners will be announced at 68th Annual Leadership Summit and Industry Expo on April 23-25.

RIA Seeks Projects for Its 2013 Phoenix Awards



Recognizing Excellence in Restoration & Reconstruction



Rockville, MD – The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) is seeking entries for the 2013 Phoenix Awards for Innovation in Restoration and Reconstruction.



The competition is open to RIA member and non-member firms who are active service providers in the restoration and remediation industry. To be considered for eligibility, a project must be at least 90 percent complete by December 2012. Projects must involve the restoration or reconstruction of residential or commercial buildings. There is no minimum project size. Fees for members are $300 for the first entry and $200 for an additional entry. Non-member fees are $500 for first entry and $400 for the second entry. A firm may submit up to two projects in each category.



The registration deadline is Monday, December 17, 2012. Entries will be accepted until Friday, January 4, 2013, and will be assessed a $75 late fee if received after December 17th.  The winners will be announced during the 68th Annual Leadership Summit and Industry Expo at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. on April 23-25, 2013.



"The Phoenix Awards illustrate the best aspects of the restoration industry," explained RIA's Director of Standards and Communications, Patricia Harman, who coordinates the competition. "The projects entered are excellent examples of the creativity, knowledge and ingenuity required by restoration professionals on a daily basis."



Projects are judged by a panel of professionals who consider the innovative procedures employed, problem-solving required as part of the restoration process, and the value demonstrated through a conspicuous reduction in the amount of the loss for the insurer and/or property owner.
