REGO-FIX to Spotlight Cool, Secure Products at MMTS 2014

reCool® and secuRgrip® take center stage in booth 150

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  — At the Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show (MMTS) in booth 150, REGO-FIX will showcase new technology that quickly and easily retrofits a live tool head on a CNC lathe to make it coolant through instead of coolant flood as well as a highly secure tool holding solution for demanding part machining applications.

The company's new reCool system is an alternative to expensive, high-maintenance through-coolant-dedicated live tooling heads. With just four components – a special clamping nut with outer ring, coolant pipe, straight fitting and elbow fitting – the system retrofits onto existing live tooling heads with an ER output (straight and angled) in approximately two minutes.

reCool achieves standard speeds up to 12,000 rpm and pressures up to 1,000 psi. Higher speeds and coolant pressures are available upon request. The system also works in conjunction with REGO-FIX collets, sealing and coolant flush disks, milling cutters and drills with diameters from 2.5 mm (0.098") to 30.5 mm (1.2"). Additionally, because of its simple structure and special lubricated bearings, reCool serves as an affordable, low-maintenance internal cooling system.

"By adding reCool to their CNC turning operations, manufacturers can easily remove heat from the cutting zone and achieve better surface finishes, longer tool life, improved chip control and increased productivity overall," said David McHenry, senior product engineer at REGO-FIX.

For added confidence when machining expensive, tough materials in high material-removal applications, REGO-FIX will showcase its secuRgrip anti-pullout system that locks in collets and cutters. This specially designed toolholder eliminates cutter slippage by providing tremendous gripping strength in conjunction with a patented locking key system and threaded cap.

According to McHenry, even with the highest clamping forces in the industry, there are still those applications that require additional safety measures. In fact, REGO-FIX developed the state-of-the-art secuRgrip system in response to customer demand for a fail-safe system.

secuRgrip does not require the purchase of expensive specially modified endmills, but rather makes use of existing standard carbide or HSS endmill designs. The standard ground notches found on most Weldon-type endmills readily accept secuRgrip's locking key insert for fast, easy assembly.

The secuRgrip system is applicable for use with REGO-FIX PG 25 or PG 32 holders in all tapers, including CAT, BT, TC, HSK, CAPTO and dual contact REGO PLUS. Licensed by BIG Daishowa, REGO PLUS products are compatible with all BIG PLUS spindles.
