Hazel Park, MI, 48030
USA

Press release date: December 15, 2009

The P420 plastic-body vortex shedding flowmeter from Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. has been incorporated into two different Pulsafeeder (Rochester, NY) emulsion polymer blending systems according to the two companies. The flowmeter is a simple plastic flowmeter with no moving parts to stick, bind or coat.

The P420 Series of plastic flowmeters meets requirements for monitoring the primary flow signal for dilution water in certain Pulsafeeder systems for industrial wastewater applications.

Universal Flow Monitor's P420 Series flow rate transmitters include models with wetted parts entirely of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride). Electronic output is from a 4-20 mA two-wire transmitter rated Intrinsically Safe when used with barriers. The electronics package is totally potted and not vulnerable to shorting, corrosion, leaks, humidity or condensate.

Universal Flow Monitors offers both PVC and CPVC P420 units in six pipe diameters providing full-scale flow rates from 6 to 200 gallons per minute (23 to 750 liters per minute) with 10:1 turndown. The pipe sizes with their flow rates are 3/8 inch (6 GPM, 23 LPM), 1/2 inch ( 12 GPM, 45 LPM), 3/4 inch (25 GPM, 95 LPM), 1 inch (50 GPM, 190 LPM), 1-1/2 inches (100 GPM, 380 LPM) and 2 inches (200 GPM, 750 LPM).

Product literature for the P420 flow meter is available on the Universal Flow Monitors website, www.flowmeters.com, by scrolling to "Plastic Flow Rate Meter" on the company's homepage, www.flowmeters.com.
