LeakSense is a lightweight, software-only version of Provilla's flagship LeakProof(TM) enterprise information leak prevention solution that was also announced today. LeakSense provides a perfect way for companies to gain visibility into the data transfer activity on their endpoints and evaluate the true nature of their security risks. LeakSense offers enterprises a convenient window into the movement of data across the network and off desktops and laptops by logging all data flows and file names, and can even store a copy of the data on the LeakSense server. Provilla LeakSense agents are installed on selected desktops and laptops in key department sampling points, such as customer service, on a power user's laptop, in the cafeteria and on other carefully managed endpoints. The agents then track all data movement off these endpoints -- to any attached device, through any port or across any I/O interface using any protocol, including USB drives, email and IM, even when endpoints are offline -- and log all activity to the LeakSense server. The server can generate a variety of detailed reports clearly illustrating data movement off of these endpoints to provide organizations with a realistic picture of their data loss exposure.
