Prominent Professor Joins IRST Team

Immediate Response Spill Technologies (IRST) has brought on Dr. Tom Hanley as an engineering consultant. A chemical engineering professor at Auburn University, he brings with him over 40 years of engineering experience.
In his new position at IRST, Hanley will assist the company in the engineering arena with his extensive knowledge in the material properties of hydrocarbon liquids and polymers. In addition, he will perform experiments to enable IRST to better understand and optimize their product formulations. Hanley has a Ph. D. in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a M.B.A. in management from Wright State University.

"I want to help build IRST's technical understanding of their products and enhance overall company competence in these areas," said Hanley.

IRST specializes in fuel and oil spill cleanup. They produce a wide range of containment solutions, including the innovative CI Agent, a nontoxic, petroleum-based polymer that solidifies fuel and oil for superior spill control.
