Promess Marks 30th Anniversary Of Sensor And Process Control System Manufacturing In Recently Expanded Headquarters Campus
Brighton, MI -- Promess, Inc., a Brighton, Mich., based manufacturer of industrial sensors, sensor application hardware, firmware, and supporting software, has passed a significant milestone marking the firm’s 30th year in business. Promess systems intelligently monitor and control manufacturing and assembly processes by measuring in-process assembly or functional force, position and torque to provide end-users assurance that resulting components and products are within specification.
Incorporated in Michigan in 1984, Promess moved into its newly-built world headquarters on a 10-acre campus in Brighton in 1986 and subsequently expanded the facility in 1991, 1998 and 2012 to its present 50,000 square feet. The headquarters complex was part of founder Larry Stockline’s original vision for the company.
“Larry envisioned the completed campus as a showcase of both efficiency and environmental responsibility,” said Promess president, Glenn Nausley, “and we have always strived to meet both goals. The latest expansion includes space for expanded research and development activities, manufacturing and associated functions and a new Process Development Center that will allow us to better meet the needs of customers.
“Equally important, the expanded campus minimizes our carbon footprint through a variety of energy-saving ‘green’ features, which is also in keeping with Larry’s original vision,” Nausley added.
In addition to its Michigan headquarters, Promess also manufactures products in Berlin, Germany, for distribution in Europe and worldwide. The firm provides global sales and technical support in 35 industrial countries.
Company founder Stockline notes that Promess is a completely organic company which has never sought or accepted tax incentives in any form from city, state, or federal governmental agencies.
