Press release date: November 26, 2010

At this year's EUROMOLD in Frankfurt, HASCO, the leading manufacturer of standard mould units and the specialist in all aspects of hot runner technology, will present the latest enhancements of standard mould units created half a century ago to an audience of experts. In 1960, Rolf Hasenclever submitted a patent to facilitate the production of injection moulding tools by using standardised elements. This meant considerably faster manufacture times of injection-mould tools, as well as being more economical and reliable in service. With this standard in mind, HASCO develops solutions to increase productivity together with customers from the mould construction and plastics processing industry.

Servo motor HASCO's electric drive opens up new possibilities in mould construction. The use of an electric motor in injection mould tools offers users and designers innovative ways to solve problems that are difficult to manage with hydraulic or mechanical applications. Many of the typical mould movements can now be performed quickly, efficiently and with perfect reproducibility.

Guide elements The new DLC-coated guide and centring units have been specially designed for use in high-precision tools and are able to meet the very stringent demands in particular the medical, packaging and food industries.

Mould construction The proven pre-hardened, high-quality steel Toolox33 is now additionally available as an undrilled P-plate, as a finished cavity plate in K20 quality or as K252 with finish machining allowances in the system drillings. The special stability features of this material allow finish-machining in one setting. Using the HASCO clamping fixture A8001 likewise reduces set-up times. The homogeneous, sulphur-free structure permits high gloss polishes and acid etch graining. The choice of material has a major influence on the economic efficiency of mould construction and the service life of the tool.

Temperature control A wide range of cooling elements dissipates the heat from the cavity at every desired position and thus ensures optimum cycle times. The product line starts with the entire range of hoses and connections, through spiral cores and diverting elements. The new diverting plug Z9675/... is used to position the ejector bore through the cooling channels, allowing significantly greater flexibility in tool design. The new intermediate size M9x1 for the sealing plugs Z94/... and Z940/.... can now seal size 8 cooling channels with considerably less effort.

Hot runner technology In the hot runner segment, HASCO will highlight various new needle valve solutions as well as innovative solutions for difficult gating positions in manifold tools.

The new Multi Shot Z10440/... has been specially designed for direct side gating and is ideally suitable for articles like sleeves and cannulas. Direct side gating during production of a pump head for a dispenser will be presented live at the HASCO Stand, Hall 8/F27.

Multimodule Z3280/.../S combines between 2 and 6 modified Compact Shot nozzles Z3220/..., Z3230/... in a minimum of space. Through the modular design, it is possible to work with cavity-to-cavity distances that are normally unattainable with a conventional hot runner system and offers flexibility in the arrangement of the gating points that a traditional multiple gating nozzle does not. Additional to this, two new control units have been added to the product portfolio. With the Multi hot runner control unit Z1240/..., HASCO offers control of the highest class in terms of efficiency, convenience and reliability.

HASCO's technical service department will find the optimum solution for your specific application and can provide a broad range of standardised nozzles and hot runner elements in combination with special solutions anywhere in the world.

Look forward to discovering even more innovations. Visit us in Frankfurt, Hall 8/ Stand F27 and get new ideas to boost your competitive advantage.

HASCO - Together we shape your ideas.
