A unique family of 6" aperture adjustable downlights designed to serve a wide variety of commercial and high-end residential applications has been introduced by the Prescolite Division of Hubbell Lighting, Inc (NYSE). Identified as the A6, the new product line represents an expansion of the company's Architektur® family of specification-grade downlights.
Particularly well suited for hospitality, restaurant, high-end retail, boardroom, and custom home applications, the A6 has been designed to make specification jobs extremely easy when commissioning the product after installation. Lighting designers will quickly recognize that the task of aiming and adjustment is simple, fast, intuitive, and entirely tool-less.
The 6" aperture A6 comes on the heels of the new 4" aperture A4 adjustable downlights introduced in April 2006. Both families are considered the ultimate adjustable downlight, sharing a host of best-of-class features. Translating center beam optics for all lamp types ensure the center of the lamp beam will intersect with the center of the aperture at all aiming angles. Hot aiming allows the fixture to be aimed while illuminated based on the true lighting effect rather than the anticipated. Tool-less horizontal and vertical aim locking, tool-less top access, and cast vertical aiming angle indicators add additional ease convenience.
Whereas the A4 accommodated the smaller MR16, AR70, PAR16, and PAR 20 lamps in a 4" aperture, the new A6 family accommodates larger PAR30, AR111, and PAR36 lamps in a nominal 6" aperture that matches Prescolite's 6" static downlights. A6 can be aimed vertically from 0-35°, and rotationally from 0-362°, the widest range available in the lighting industry for its lamp types.
Designed so that no hardware is visible from below the ceiling, all A6 trims have die cast aluminum flanges that ensure a rigid interface to the ceiling, consistent appearance, and a very high degree of architectural value for even the most discriminating specifier.
A wide range of flanges, trims, and reflector finishes are available for the A6. Flange finishes include brushed aluminum, black, Zet metallic silver, and white. Trim choices are open reflector, baffle and lensed wall wash. Open reflectors are available in a range of premium Alzak process anodized colors and finishes including Prescolite's exclusive American-Matte finger print proof finish.
