Porvair Invests £3.5m in New Hampshire Base

An international leader in filtration and separation has announced plans for a new £3.5million strategic base in Hampshire that will allow it to meet customer demands like never before.
Porvair Filtration Group has secured a 42,000 square foot premises in New Milton as part of a strategy to consolidate its industrial process business across one site.
The company currently employs 50 staff in New Milton across separate units, and the new building will bring these operations under one roof.
Staff numbers are also expected to increase further when Porvair moves its Microfiltration business from Segensworth to the new building next year.
As well as integrating Porvair’s industrial process operations, the strategic move will provide further capacity at Segensworth to support the company’s growth plans in the Aerospace market.
Porvair – which has supplied the process industry with performance-driven filtration equipment for over 25 years – will spend a total of £3.5million on purchasing and fitting out the building, turning it into a cutting edge facility, including an investment of £300,000 in cleanroom technology.
The group manufactures in both the UK and USA and has an extensive network of sales offices and distribution channels throughout the world.
Finance Director David Mellor expects the new integrated base to increase overall capacity within the group, facilitating growth across the business and providing a platform for further expansion in line with current projections.
He said: “By bringing our industrial processes business into one integrated site, our objective will be to increase efficiency and ensure our customers benefit from market leading innovation in process and filtration.”
“Our £3.5million investment is significant, but it is also in line with the sizeable growth opportunity we see for our products in the industrial process market.”
“We are looking at growth of £1million per year in this sector and this investment will be a huge step towards realising that.”
He added: “It’s also a marketing tool because the new building will improve our customer service by providing a more structured, cohesive and centralised base.”
