Toronto, Canada - GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) has rolled out its advanced portable optical talk set which can also be used as optical laser source. This device features a three-way calling function, low volume warnings, long-short communication switchover to adapt to different locations, automatic power-off and a LCD screen. It is commonly used in the construction and maintenance of optical cable, optical fiber communication and optical fiber for CATV networks.
This compact optical talk set, model 5B, uses advanced technology that allows for high speech quality, the ability to communicate over long distances and the ability to communicate during severe weather conditions. It has a moveable connector for selection of FC, SC or ST. This portable optical talk set works over a wavelength range from 800nm to 1700nm and has calibrated basic wavelengths of 1310nm and 1550nm. It is powered by a 9V Ni-MH rechargeable battery.
