SABIC's Nitin Apte will be Plenary Speaker at SPE Antec® 2011



Global Resin Manager Will Speak in Place of SABIC Innovative Plastics' Tom Stanley

NEWTOWN, CT, U.S.A.: The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) is pleased to announce that Nitin Apte, General Manager of Global Marketing and Technology for SABIC Innovative Plastics, will be a plenary speaker at ANTEC® 2011. Apte replaces Tom Stanley, who was previously scheduled to speak but will be unable to attend.

ANTEC® 2011will be held May 1-5, at the Hynes Convention Center and the Boston Marriott Copley Center Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Nitin Apte will speak on Tuesday, May 3, delivering a presentation titled Innovations in Engineering Thermoplastics - SABIC's Approach to New Materials and New Applications.

Apte's presentation will address:
1. Examples of successful new product innovations from SABIC Innovative Plastics in the last decade, such as high-heat thermoplastic polyimides and tailored polycarbonate copolymers;
2. Key business indicators and market macro trends for the next decade;
3. Technology innovation to maintain leadership in core markets such as automotive and consumer electronics;
4. Product and application innovation to penetrate new markets such as photovoltaics and electric vehicles;
5 SABIC Innovative Plastics' approach and commitment to sustainability.

Nitin Apte is responsible for global product marketing and technology for SABIC Innovative Plastics' high performance resins and LNP compounds. Prior to his current position, he served as General Manager for LNP products. He joined GE Plastics in 1989 as a Manufacturing Engineer for the superabrasives division. Since that time he has held various roles and completed several international assignments.

Apte graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, with a Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering and holds MS and MBA degrees from Ohio State University.
