Press release date: February 14, 2011

Holland, Ohio (February 14, 2011) -Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI), a global leader in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) design, development and engineering services, is partnering with the Centro de Tecnologia de Embalagem (CETEA) to produce a second technical training conference for the rapidly-growing Brazilian marketplace.

The course, PET Packaging for Hot- and Aseptic Filling of Sensitive Beverages, will be held April 5-8, 2011 in Campinas, São Paulo and will feature three modules: PET Technology (April 5), Hot-Fill and Aseptic Technology (April 6-7) and PET Recycling and Sustainability (April 8).

Last year, PTI announced that it had signed a training agreement with CETEA, a State of São Paulo packaging technology research institution, which is part of ITAL, the Food Technology Institute. The April 2011 event will be held at ITAL's headquarters in Campinas.

PTI has been a global pioneer and leader in PET package development and production since its inception in 1982. Because of its three decades of solid PET experience, "CETEA believes that PTI is ideally-suited to share its bottle-making expertise with Brazilian companies," said Assis Garcia, director, CETEA.

With the Brazilian marketplace positioned for rapid growth, both brand owners and suppliers are looking for technical assistance so they can improve manufacturing expertise and quickly ramp up production. Drivers include product differentiation, product line diversification and barrier/performance improvement. The educational seminar is designed to help companies meet those goals.

"We are looking forward to working with CETEA on this second training session. PTI will be sharing its three decades of experience with Brazilian brand owners and plastic processors to help these companies develop a new level of expertise," said Marcio Amazonas, manager of Latin American operations, PTI.

Attendees can opt to attend one, two or all three training modules. Separate pricing is available for each module or a discounted package price of R$ 2,700 (Brazilian Reals) ($1,580 USD is available) for all three modules. CETEA members are entitled to a reduced rate: R$ 2,160 ($1,270 USD).
